Green Globe 21 (GG21) is an environmental benchmarking and certification program for Eco-Tourist resorts initiated by the World Travel and Tourism Council in 1993.

The GG21 International Ecotourism Standard provides a range of environmental performance indicators with corresponding benchmarks for environmental and social sustainability. Benchmarks are provided for Baseline and Best Practice performance depending on the specific location of the resort.

We recommend using the GG21 Precinct Planning & Design Standard or the GG21 Design and Construct Standards for new Australian and International eco-tourist developments.  We have used the tool on
eco-resorts in Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania, Bali – Indonesia and China.
